Dentures and Partial Dentures

Full dentures are custom-made, removable prosthetic teeth designed to replace an entire set of missing teeth. Before fitting full dentures, all remaining teeth in the upper or lower jaw must be removed. Once extracted, the gums need time to heal before the dentures can be placed.

Modern full dentures are designed to closely resemble natural teeth and are typically made from pink-colored acrylic that mimics the appearance of gums. They are crafted to fit securely and comfortably, restoring both function and appearance. Thanks to advancements in dental technology, today’s dentures look more natural and feel more comfortable than ever before.

If you still have healthy, natural teeth remaining, partial dentures may be the best option. Partial dentures consist of an arch with one or more prosthetic teeth attached, filling in the gaps left by missing teeth.

Like full dentures, partial dentures have a pink-colored acrylic base that blends with your gums. They are designed to fit seamlessly in the mouth, restoring your ability to chew and speak properly. Partial dentures are typically secured with a metal framework that clips onto existing teeth for added stability. They must be removed at night and stored in a denture cleansing solution to maintain hygiene and durability.

Full Dentures: The process begins with removing any remaining teeth, followed by a healing period to allow the gums to fully recover. Once healed, impressions (molds) of your mouth are taken and sent to a dental lab to create a custom denture set. The entire process typically takes two to three months.

Partial Dentures: The process is similar to full dentures. Once the gums have healed, impressions of your mouth are taken and sent to a dental lab. Partial dentures include a metal framework that helps hold them securely in place by attaching to your natural teeth.
